Inibaru.id – Nama Meryl Streep tercatat lagi sebagai nomine dalam Piala Oscar yang ke-90 untuk kategori Aktris Terbaik. Ini menjadi rekor tersendiri bagi perempuan 68 tahun tersebut. Sebelumnya, dia telah dikenal sebagai pemegang "rekor" nomine ajang yang juga biasa disebut Academy Awards itu. Nah, dengan tambahan ini, aktris kelahiran 22 Juni 1949 itu berarti berhasil memecahkan rekornya sendiri.
Academy Awards adalah ajang penghargaan perfilman internasional paling bergengsi di dunia. Meryl Streep tentunya merasa bangga karena namanya sering terpilih dalam nominasi.

Pada perhelatan Oscar ke-90 ini, dia mendapatkan nominasi yang ke-21-nya lantaran tampil memukau sebagai Katherin Graham, pemimpin koran Pentagon Papers dalam film The Post. Meryl bersaing dengan empat aktris lain, yakni Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water), Frances McDormand (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), Margot Robbie (I, Tonya), dan Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird).
Nggak cuma Aktris Terbaik, The Post menjadi nomine untuk kategori Film Terbaik, bersaing dengan 8 film lain seperti Dunkirk, Get Out, The Shape of Water, dan Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
Dalam aksinya di film The Post, Meryl memang banjir pujian. Aktingnya saat memerankan sosok perempuan pertama sebagai kepala penerbitan surat kabar itu dinilai sukses besar. Kendati baru kali ini bekerjasama dengan sang sutradara, Steven Spielberg, akting Meryl nggak perlu lagi diragukan.
Tiga Oscar
Nominasi Oscar pertama Meryl Streep didapat lewat film The Deer Hunter (978). Dia baru mendapatkan Oscar pertamanya setahun berselang sebagai Aktris Pendukung Terbaik lewat Kramer vs Kramer (1979). Pada 1982, Meryl kembali meraih gelar Aktris Terbaik lewat film Shopie’s Choice. Gelar yang sama kembali dia raih lewat The Iron Lady (2011).
